This is the default grade used at Metalbor, and is the most commonly used HSS material worldwide. It is suitable for all standard machining, including interrupted cuts, in most ferrous materials including free-cutting stainless, cast alloys and cast iron, and many non-ferrous materials.
Round toolbits traditionally are offered in a more limited variety as standard, but because of their routine method of production, specials are much more easily and quickly available to order. They are usually finished with ends ground at 90° to the length, but some smaller sizes may have coned ends. This is because they are most often extracted from the drill manufacturing line. Tolerance on diameter is generally tighter than for squares, and toolbits ex blanks from drill manufacture will have the same h8 tolerance as finished drills.
