Screwdriver Bits
OTHER DRIVER BITS
The desire of manufacturers of what are essentially the simplest and most straightforward tools to create some different feature which may, for a space, be patentable, or which 'locks in' the customer to a proprietary design or system is well known in many branches of engineering and is certainly noticeable in the field of screwdriver bits. In driver tooling this has led over many years to a great expansion of the systems and types available andpresents the customer, initially, with a bewildering choice. Some of these types do provide an effective answer to novel requirements, whereas the justification for others may be less clear-cut. The current stocking program at Metalbor Aero makes no attempt to cover the complete field and concentrates on those types and sizes most frequently used in the aerostructures industry and related businesses. Types not represented in this catalogue may, however, be supplied on demand. Pricing frequently depends upon the order quantity, even where the item is a regular standard, so that enquries should always include mention of a quantity.
Bit types which may have some following in aerospace, and which can be supplied, include the following:
- BNAE metric
- Nut-driver
- Socket head/Allen head
- Clutch-head
- Phillips threaded
- Spanner - pin
- Frearson
- Posidriv
- Square recess
- Hexagon-head
- Slotted head
- Torx-Plus
- Motorq
Further, many of the types in the V24 V25 and V26 ranges are available in smaller and larger sizes than shown, and are also available in special long and extra-long lengths as well.
The ACR feature may also be available on some of these.
