Temporary Fasteners
The following pages show re-useable fasteners designed for clamping together metal sheets (and also composite structures) prior to riveting and further operations. A full range is offered, including types with long reach or for confined spaces, for side gripping where no holes are available, spring-loaded and screw-tightened types. They have a great variety of vernacular names, including 'skin clamps', 'skin pins', 'monos', and 'clecos', (or 'clekos') the last two particularly referring to the spring-op types, and deriving their names from those of the original manufacturers. Of particular note are the SSL and SEL types, also known as 'No-Mark' or 'No-Mar' fasteners, as they spare the work surface from clamping marks. They are increasingly demanded
