Double ended body drills are much used in the sheet metal industry and in ‘body’ shops, hence the name, but they are also useful in tough materials including stainless steel because of their short, very strong design. With zero body clearance (they are not ‘backed off’) and 135° split point geometry they are particularly useful in hand-directed power tools– but special care must be taken to fully tighten them in the chuck.
