These tools are the ideal for very tough materials where the full length of a jobber drill is not required. Their short length and high red-hardness make them highly suitable for working harder stainless and aerospace alloys. Unfortunately, their value is not always recognised by the wider market and their relative unpopularity leads to smaller batch quantities and therefore, rather higher prices. The standard stock range is also somewhat limited as a result.
