M2 High Speed Steel Form relieved profile teeth for DIN3972 Profile 1 Fractional bores with standard keyway (BSS122) Cutter numbers to BSS/British conventions* Metric bores with standard keyway (DIN138) Cutters for milling the teeth of Spur and Helical Gears in the Module system. D+f = 2,25xMOD Cutters for milling the teeth of Spur and Helical Gears in diametral pitch D+f= 2.25÷DP Cutters will maintain an accurate form on repeated regrinding.
*****IMPORTANT***** *Numbering of cutters shown above follows the usual UK/USA conventions - these are the cutters that will be supplied to purchase orders where the cutter number alone is given. In much of continental Europe the opposite, German, convention is used. Therefore it is most important when ordering to confirm - 1. The Module or diametral pitch required 2. The number of teeth in the gear to be cut (number of teeth in a full circumference, as this determines the tooth shape) 3. The Pressure Angle required (for Module cutters, this will usually be 20°, but it is possible to produce with 14.1/2° PA). 4. The bore size required. The above are our standard bores, but others may be produced. Cutter numbering conventions for spur gears:

For gears with fewer than 12 Teeth, the standard cutters in a set will not be useful, and a special cutter for that tooth number, an absolute cutter, will be required.
Most of the above sizes are held in stock. Other sizes are produced to special order quite quickly, as blanks are held in stock. Cutters for tooth forms as large as 1DP can be manufactured to special order.
