With standard bores according to BS122 (inch sizes) and DIN138 (metric sizes): both have standard keyways.
Cutting teeth on both sides and the periphery. Teeth alternately left – and right – staggered
This type of tool is suitable for faster cutting in deeper slots than standard slitting saws, and is appropriate for
working a wide range of ferrous, and many non-ferrous, materials. They can be considered complementary to
the range of side and face cutters (series 503 and 504) but cover thinner widths, although there is overlap.
*As with fractional size slitting saws (517 series) legacy practices mean that there is a small residual stock of 518A Side Chip Saws with
very slightly different numbers of teeth to those shown above, and these will be provided where available until stocks are exhausted.
Side chip saws may be provided in unlisted sizes, and up to 10” / 250mm diameter to special order - the quantity ordered will determine
the unit price.
518A series saws may also be provided in M42 8% Cobalt material to special order, subject to material availability.
